Terms of Service

Last updated September 9, 2026

These terms cover your use of LocalLinkMatch. They are written to be read, so they are in plain language wherever plain language does the job.

Who you are agreeing with

LocalLinkMatch is operated by Surf Sigma Inc., a corporation registered in Ontario, Canada. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Surf Sigma Inc., and “you” means the person or business using the service.

By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you are signing up on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorized to accept these terms for it.

What the service does

You add a website. We read that one public page to work out what the business does and where it operates, review it, and then show you other businesses on the platform that look like sensible local link partners, ranked by how well their location and services fit yours.

If you want to reach one of those businesses, you send a connection request. That sends them your contact email, plus your website address and Google listing if you choose to include them. It does not give you theirs. If they want to talk, they reply to you directly, and everything after that happens between the two of you. We are not a party to it.

What the service is not, stated plainly so there is no room for confusion:

  • We do not sell links, buy links, or take a cut of anything you agree with a match.
  • Whether a match replies, and what the two of you agree, is between you and them. We introduce you and step back.
  • We do not guarantee search rankings, traffic, or any other commercial outcome.
  • We are not responsible for whatever you and a match agree between yourselves.

Your account

You need to be at least 18 and give us accurate information. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has gained access to it.

You may invite other people to your account. Anything they do counts as done by you, and you remain responsible for it.

Websites you add

You may only add a website you own or are authorized to represent. Every website is reviewed before it becomes visible to anyone else, and we may decline one, or remove one later, at our discretion. The usual reasons are that the site is not a real operating business, or that its content is unlawful or adult.

Review is a judgement call, not a certification. Approving a website means it looked legitimate to us. It does not mean we vouch for it.

Acceptable use

When using LocalLinkMatch, you agree not to:

  • Use contact details you receive through a match for anything other than discussing that match. Sending unrelated marketing to an address you obtained here breaches these terms and, in Canada, likely breaches anti-spam law.
  • Add a website you do not own or have authority over, or misrepresent who operates it.
  • Scrape, bulk export, or systematically collect information about other members from the platform.
  • Create multiple accounts to work around review decisions, pricing, or a suspension.
  • Interfere with the service, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or use it to send anything unlawful.

Breaking these is grounds for suspension or termination without refund. We would rather explain a decision than enforce one silently, so in most cases we will tell you what happened and why.

What we never do with your information

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone for their own purposes. There is no advertising on the platform and no data brokering behind it. The only companies that touch your data are the ones we use to run the service, listed in the Privacy Policy, and they may only act on our instructions.

Your contact email address and your website address are never shown to another member automatically. Matching deliberately works without them: a match sees the general area and the kind of service, and nothing that identifies the business. Your details are disclosed only when you choose to send a connection request, and only to the one member you sent it to. You pick whether to include your website address and Google listing; your contact email is what makes a reply possible, so it goes with the request. Nothing is ever revealed because we decided it should be.

Opportunities we surface from other websites

Alongside matches from within the platform, we sometimes surface public posts from elsewhere on the internet, currently Reddit, where someone appears to be looking for the kind of link exchange or guest post your website could answer. These are shown as bonus matches and open on the other site.

These are not members, and everything we know about them is what their post says. We have not reviewed them, verified who they are, confirmed anything they claim, or checked what their site links to. They have not agreed to our terms and we have no relationship with them at all. Treat them as you would any stranger’s post you found yourself.

So: whether to reply, what to agree, and what to send them is entirely your decision, and we accept no responsibility for those posts, for the people behind them, for the sites they link to, or for what comes of dealing with them. If we add other public sources later, the same applies to those.

Search engine guidelines are your call

Search engines have their own policies about links, and those policies change. What we do is introduce businesses to each other. Whether a particular arrangement you reach with a match complies with the guidelines of Google or any other search engine is your decision and your responsibility.

We built the product around genuinely relevant local businesses for exactly this reason, but relevance is our best judgement, not a compliance opinion.

Pricing, billing, and renewal

Adding a website and seeing its matches is free. Payment is required only to send connection requests. Each website is billed separately, on a quarterly or annual subscription, at the rates shown on the pricing page.

Prices are in US dollars and exclude any applicable taxes, which are added at checkout where required. Surf Sigma Inc. is registered for GST/HST, so Canadian customers will see tax applied.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each term until you stop them. Pausing a website is how you cancel it: a paused website runs to the end of the period you have already paid for and then does not renew, and you keep access until then. We may change prices, and if we do, the change applies from your next renewal and we will tell you before it takes effect.

Refunds

In short: while you have neither sent nor received a connection request for a website, its payment is refundable on request. Once a request has gone either way, it is not. The full version, including how to ask, is on the refund policy page.

Your content

The website details you submit stay yours. You give us permission to use them to run the service. In practice that means we fetch the single page at the address you gave us, identify the services and the general area from it, and keep that result so we can match you and so a wrong result can be corrected later. We do not crawl the rest of your site, and we do not collect email addresses from it.

Everything we build, including the platform, the matching logic, and this site, stays ours.

Ending the arrangement

You can stop at any time by pausing your websites or closing your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that we are required to act on by law, or where continuing would expose us or other members to harm. If we close your account without cause, we will refund the unused portion of any term you have paid for.

Disclaimers

The service is provided as is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error free, that any match will be suitable, or that any commercial outcome will follow from using it. Information about other members comes from them and from their own websites, and we do not independently verify it beyond the review described above.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost rankings, lost traffic, or lost business, however they arise. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Some places do not allow certain exclusions, and nothing here removes rights you have that cannot be removed by agreement.

Indemnity

You agree to cover us for claims and costs arising from your use of the service in breach of these terms, from content on a website you added, or from what you do with contact details you receive through a match.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will email account holders or show a notice in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated version. The date at the top of this page always shows when it last changed.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you are a consumer somewhere with mandatory local protections, this does not take those away.
