Add and submit a website for review

Add a website when you want it to be scanned, reviewed, and considered for relevant LocalLinkMatch opportunities.

The process has two parts:

  1. Add the website and its matching preferences.
  2. Review the scan results and submit the website for review.

Before you begin

Make sure you have:

  • A live website URL.
  • A client selected or a name for a new client.
  • A contact email address that can receive connection requests.
  • A basic understanding of the business's category, services, and location.
  • Permission to represent the website and use its contact email.

1. Open the add-website page

From your dashboard, select Add a Website.

If you are adding several websites, select Bulk-add websites instead. The regular add-website form is best for one website because it gives you more time to review each choice. Bulk-add lets you add up to 10 websites manually at once, or up to 50 through a CSV file.

2. Enter the website URL

Enter the website URL in the Website URL field.

You can enter a standard domain, such as:

example.com

You can also enter a more specific website URL when it is the page you want represented, such as:

example.com/toronto

LocalLinkMatch checks that the URL is valid before continuing. If you see "That doesn't look like a valid URL," check for spaces, spelling mistakes, and incomplete addresses.

3. Add a website display name

Enter a Website Display Name.

Use a name that will help you identify the website in your dashboard. For example:

Acme Roofing — Toronto

This name is for your organization. It is private until you contact a match.

4. Select or create a client

If you already have clients in your account, select the appropriate one from the Client list.

To add a new client:

  1. Select Create new client.
  2. Enter the client name.
  3. Add the client's connection contact email if required.

For a first website, LocalLinkMatch can set up the account's default client automatically. You may not see the normal client picker until you have added more websites.

5. Set the connection contact email

The connection contact email is the email address that can receive replies when another LocalLinkMatch user contacts this website.

You can:

  • Use the email address from the selected client.
  • Add a contact email for a client that does not have one yet.
  • Use your signup email if that is the right address.
  • Create a new client with its own contact email.

If you use an email address that is not your signup email or has not already been verified for the account, LocalLinkMatch may ask you to verify it before the client's websites can send or receive connection requests.

Choose the email carefully

Use an address that:

  • Is monitored by someone who can respond to partnership requests.
  • Belongs to the business or authorized representative.
  • Will remain available if a staff member leaves.
  • Does not expose an agency address when you want the business to handle conversations directly.

6. Choose matching preferences

Under Matching preferences, select at least one option:

  • Seeking Links: Use this when the website wants to find suitable opportunities or connections.
  • Open to Providing Links: Use this when the website is open to considering relevant requests from others.

Select both when the website is open to both directions.

You must select at least one. If neither option is selected, LocalLinkMatch will not let you continue.

These settings can be changed later from the website's page.

7. Add an optional Google Business Profile link

If the website represents a local business, you can add its Google Business Profile link.

This is optional. It can help establish that the website represents a real business. The link is not automatically shared with others; it is included only if you choose to share it when contacting a match.

8. Choose the website type

Leave the content-site box unchecked for a normal local business website.

Select "This is a content/informational/news website, not a local business" only when the website is primarily editorial, informational, or news-focused and does not represent one single local service business.

This choice matters: LocalLinkMatch matches a content website more broadly, across the services in its category, rather than through one local business category.

9. Scan the website

Select Scan This Website.

LocalLinkMatch saves the website, then scans it for information that may help identify its location, category, and services. While this is happening, keep the page open until the next screen loads.

If LocalLinkMatch cannot find the website or cannot complete the scan, review the URL and make sure the website is publicly reachable.

10. Confirm the website details

After the scan, confirm the information LocalLinkMatch has found or suggested.

Review:

  • City, county/region, province/state, and country.
  • Category.
  • Services.
  • Any additional details requested on the confirmation page.

For a local business, accurate location and service details are especially important because they affect which opportunities are relevant.

For a content site, confirm the required country and category information. Content sites are handled differently because they do not rely on one local business location in the same way.

11. Submit the website for review

When the details are accurate, submit the website.

Your website is then marked as pending review. An administrator reviews it before it goes live.

What happens next
