Getting started with LocalLinkMatch

LocalLinkMatch helps you find relevant websites and businesses to connect with. Add your website, confirm the information LocalLinkMatch finds, submit it for review, and then use your active website to explore suitable opportunities.

LocalLinkMatch helps you start a conversation. It does not guarantee that another business will respond, agree to an opportunity, publish a link, or complete a partnership.

Your first steps

Most new users follow this path:

  1. Add a website to your dashboard.
  2. Select the client that owns or represents that website.
  3. Add or confirm the contact email that should receive connection requests.
  4. Choose whether the website is seeking opportunities, open to providing opportunities, or both.
  5. Let LocalLinkMatch scan the website.
  6. Confirm its location, category, and services.
  7. Submit the website for review.
  8. Complete any requested verification.
  9. Activate the website if payment is required.
  10. Review suitable website matches and other opportunities.

Your website must be approved, unpaused, and have an eligible contact email before it can send connection requests, answer pitches, or participate fully in matching.

Before you add a website

Have these details ready:

  • The website URL, such as example.com.
  • A private display name to help you recognize the website in your dashboard.
  • The client the website belongs to, if you manage websites for more than one business.
  • A contact email address that should receive connection requests.
  • A clear idea of the business's location, category, and services.
  • An optional Google Business Profile link, if the website represents a local business.

The display name is for organizing your dashboard. It remains private until you contact a potential match.

Understand the main stages

Behind the scenes, a website's stage is really two things: an approval status, and whether it's currently paused. The table below reads them together as the stage you'll actually see in your dashboard.

StageWhat it meansWhat you need to do
Website added, scanningYou've entered a website and saved it to your account. LocalLinkMatch is looking for its location and service information.Wait for the scan to finish.
Awaiting your reviewThe scan is done. LocalLinkMatch is waiting on you to confirm or correct the suggested details before it can be submitted.Confirm or correct the suggested details, then submit.
Pending reviewYou've submitted the website. An administrator hasn't made a decision yet.Wait for the review decision, or respond if you're asked for more information.
Approved, awaiting paymentThe website is accepted but needs activation before it can go live. The account owner can choose a payment option.
Approved and liveThe website is approved and not paused. It can participate in LocalLinkMatch.Keep its details current and review opportunities.
Approved but pausedThe website is approved, but you've temporarily paused it. It doesn't appear in matching while paused.Unpause it when you're ready.
RejectedThe website wasn't approved in its current form.Review the feedback, correct the details, and resubmit where available.

A website can stay approved and live while a later change to its details is under review. In that case, the current approved details keep being used for matching until the proposed change is accepted — the website doesn't drop out of matching just because an edit is pending.

Choose the right order

If you are adding one website, start with Add a website.

If you manage many websites, use the bulk-add option only after you understand the single-site process. Bulk-add is designed for agencies and can add up to 10 websites manually at once, or up to 50 through a CSV file, but it still needs accurate contact and website information.

What LocalLinkMatch does not do

LocalLinkMatch does not automatically create a link, partnership, placement, or media response for you. It helps identify and present opportunities, then makes it easier for appropriate parties to contact each other.

You are responsible for:

  • Making sure the website and business details you submit are accurate.
  • Using an email address that can receive replies.
  • Reviewing a potential match before contacting it.
  • Communicating honestly and professionally.
  • Deciding whether an opportunity is suitable for your website or client.
  • Following the platform's terms and any agreement you make directly with another party.

Next step

Add and submit a website for review.
